Urbanization/List of largest cities

[edit]

At least for Tekirdag, the list of largest cities in this article lists the population of the whole Tekirdag province as the population of the city of Tekirdag (which only encompasses a small part of the province). Might this be true for other (Turkish?) cities on the list, too? PragmaFisch (talk) 11:28, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi all, just wanted to point out that this page could link to the Wikipedia article for Neologism under the "Western Balkans" section. I was going to make the edit myself but saw this page was protected, so if someone with access wants to link it I think that would help enrich the article. Also, apologies in advance if I'm making a Wikipedia faux pas, I don't edit much. Thanks! Seanmorr122 (talk) 22:24, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is the Balkans technically a peninsula?

[edit]

Is the Balkans still considered to be a peninsula? Some people said that it does not meet the definition of peninsula, but what is the exact definition of peninsula anyway?

If the Balkans is not a peninsula, then Mainland Southeast Asia, the Horn of Africa, and Alaska are probably not peninsulas too. Aren't they?

Geography is weird and confusing.

Demographics section of this page. First table shows turkeys inhabitants to be 11 million people. This is of course not correct. Newest numbers from 2024, estimates inhabitants of turkey to be: 85,372,377 Source:https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/databrowser/view/TPS00001/default/table?lang=en Hrskaeeg (talk) 10:25, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: That figure is for the population of European Turkey only, as that is the region of Turkey that forms part of the Balkans. Remsense ‥  10:28, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
